Heidi earnshaw - Owner/creative director
Heidi Earnshaw is a designer and woodworker whose love of craft and reverence for natural materials shape every piece produced by Heidi Earnshaw Design studio. Born and raised in Toronto, she founded her practice in the city in 2000.
Surrounded by art and antiques in her childhood home, Heidi loved making things and knew from a young age that she wanted to study art. After graduating with a visual arts degree from the University of Toronto, she took a position in a cabinet making studio and immediately fell in love with the warmth and versatility of wood, and the discipline involved in mastering a single material. Earnshaw went on to study furniture design at Sheridan College’s School of Craft and Design, later becoming a faculty member and mentor.
For more than 25 years Earnshaw has been meticulously crafting quiet, richly detailed furniture and objects that have been collected globally. Her work has been exhibited across Canada and the US, and has been recognized by the Toronto Arts Council, the Ontario Arts council and the Canada Council for the Arts.
